Network Manager

FINOWEN is looking for an experienced network and systems manager/administrator to help it grow, maintain, and improve its network performance and efficiency. As an early key hire, the successful candidate will have significant input into the network infrastructure decisions and the technical direction of the company.

Job Responsibilities:
As a small company there will be a range of skill sets required, including:

  • Network management, maintenance, design, and implementation
  • Management of monitoring systems and regular reporting
  • UNIX/Linux and MS Windows system administration, including secure forms of SMTP, POP, IMAP, HTTP, and database driven DNS, DHCP, PPPoE, and Radius
  • Security management and monitoring for above services
  • Establish best practices and policies for all network changes, including installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting all parts of the network from core infrastructure to end user systems and accounts
  • Development and implementation of information management and process automation systems
  • Employee and second-level customer technical support
  • 24x7 network emergency response (rotating with others)


  • Four year degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • Significant inter-networking experience
  • CCNA or equivalent experience
  • BGP, IGP, etc.
  • UNIX scripting
  • Large network planning, design, monitoring, and management
  • Initiative and highly self-managed
  • Ability to learn below skills as needed if not already known
  • Local to the Upper Valley or willing to relocate

Desired skills and experience:

  • CCIP or equivalent
  • BIG PLUS: CCIE, Service Provider Track
  • Cisco 1800 series or similar routers
  • RIP
  • Advanced layer 2 switching
  • PPPoE and Radius
  • Web application programming in PHP or Java
  • InterMapper / Wispermapper
  • SQL RDBMS, specifically MySQL
  • Phone system management
